Classic Classy 80s CountryReviewed by D. Gurner, 2010-02-06
I am a big fan of Chris Hillman's post Byrds' career. The Desert Rose Band great instrumental prowess and fine country lyrics are hard to beat. Songs rang from ballads to up tempo fare approaching western swing. A great listen for anyone looking for 80s country music of just good music generally.
Outstanding CD!!!!Reviewed by B. Taylor, 2009-06-09
This CD contains all of the greatest hits of Desert Rose, however,
my only regrets are the song "Running." This would be a complete
set if this song was included.
I notice that you can purchase the compact disc "Running", but the
compact disc is out of print and that makes the price a little
steep. Oh well, you get what you pay for and this band in my
opinion is worth it.
Definitely The Best Of The (Desert Rose) BandReviewed by Winslow Bunny, 2007-11-03
In their all-too-short history, The Desert Rose Band is an integral part of bringing country rock music to the mainstream of country music. This album shows them at their best - hits, near hits, a couple that I don't remember - but to this day I still enjoy listening to this album with its distinctive DRB sound. It's fine music with catchy lyrics that brings my recommendation to buy this album.
Love Chris HillmanReviewed by C. E. Fitch, 2007-08-31
I have loved Chris' music since the Byrd's. I am glad for his fine work and his continuation of fine country/rock. God bless you,Chris!
Great country rockReviewed by Stephen Ferg, 2006-03-26
This is one of my favorite albums. Just so you know where I'm coming from, I also like Poco and Pure Prairie League. If you like them, you'll probably like the Desert Rose Band. And if you like this one, I'd recommend Poco's The Forgotten Trail.
